Anthem reports 18,500 members involved in new data breach

“Health insurance firm breached again”

Over 18,000 Anthem health insurance customers have had their records emailed to the private email address of a staffer at a third-party vendor. Insurance coordination firm LaunchPoint Ventures realized that one of its own employees was involved in the identity theft in April, which Anthem has claimed in their latest release on the incident. In May, LaunchPoint had also intentionally misued another companys data before sending the Anthem records to himself.
